I agree that a lot of people are running new blocks. But that is just because they have modded the car, and want to be safer. I alos bought a brand new shortblock, and what? It is sitting in my garage. Still running the STOCK ORIGINAL shortblock with 173K miles,a nd the turbos is Greddy T88H 34D. Phil Panas here in ATL told me that this block will not hold even 700rwp. But it looks like it is holding fine the 1000 bhp. I will redyno soon ( witha 6 speed this time) to see what happens;_)
MAny Supras have dynoed up to 900rwhp, with no problems. they have been running liek that for a long time. Many alos have blown up, and these are the ones that have over 900rwhp. The only one that is holding is teh Peter Blach's car with 958rwhp on a stock bloack. And they have ( I beliee) over 10 dyno pulls.
You are correct that the stock Z engine has never been pushed to 900rwhp with a stock block to see what happens.
